DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a part-time Student TA for CS-529 (Seminatore) from August 31 to December 2, 2026. The TA will assist with grading, communicate with the instructor, and tutor students outside class, approximately 5–10 hours per week.

Applicants must be current DigiPen students, enrolled in the necessary CS-529 course with a B or better, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Residency within Washington is required, and on-site work within the state is expected.

Job description

Job Title: Student TA – CS-529 (Seminatore), F26

Reports to: Mark Seminatore

Essential Functions

A Teaching Assistant (TA) is expected to assist with grading outside the classroom, communicate regularly with the instructor, and may be required to meet with students inside and outside class to answer questions as needed.

Essential Functions/Goals

  • Assist with curriculum development both prior to and during the Fall semester.
  • Grading student work in a timely manner.
  • Provide student tutoring outside of normal classroom hours.
    • Approximately 2-4 hours per week, to be scheduled with the instructor.

Additional Functions/Goals

  • Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked.
  • Assist instructor outside of classroom as needed for academic tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by instructor.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have completed CS-529 with a grade of B or better.

Expected dates of employment: August 31 – December 2, 2026

Expected number of hours per week: 5 - 10

Wage Range:

$17.13 - 18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen

Working Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements:

  • Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology
  • Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Have taken and passed CS-529 with a B or better

Requirement Exceptions:

It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!

Once you have applied for – and the supervisor decides to offer you – a position, we will contact the necessary managers (Supervisor, Department Chair, and/or the Dean of Faculty) to complete and sign off on an Academic Waiver form, depending on which requirements need to be waived.
