## Student Surgical Tech | 40 hours per week | Surgical ServicesApply: West Burlington, Iowa: Full time: Posted 2 Days Ago: R-09202**Job Details:**Scheduled Hours: 7:30am - 6:00pm, on call and weekend rotation required**Job Description:****A Brief Overview** Assists in surgical procedures under the supervision of physicians, registered nurses and other surgical personnel. Responsible for creating and maintaining the sterile field. Prepares the operating room by collecting needed supplies and equipment. Functions within the sterile field by passing instruments and other supplies to surgeons and providing visualization through retraction. Provides high quality care to the surgical patients. **What you will do*** Active participation in surgical consciousness.* Assure each operating room has the correct case cart, supplies, equipment and instrumentation according to individual provider preferences.* Monitor and maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures.* Prepares surgical instrumentation that will be used during procedures and assures proper assembly and function.* Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation.* Pass surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants.
