Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or coursework in education, child development, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Experience with middle school or high school students preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with adolescents while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Follow teacher direction while working independently when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
• CPI and/or First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in general and special education settings under supervision of teachers.
• Assist teachers with instructional activities, interventions, accommodations, and modifications.
• Support students individually and in small groups to reinforce classroom instruction and promote academic success.
• Assist with classroom management, encourage positive behavior, and maintain a structured learning environment.
• Supervise students during classrooms, hallways, lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal to ensure safety.
• Assist with organization, study skills, and use of instructional technology.
• Collect and document student data to support interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
