The Adult Education Student Support Specialist provides comprehensive support to adult learners across the college’s five‑county service area. The position promotes student success by identifying barriers, connecting students with resources, and providing individualized guidance and support. The Specialist works collaboratively with instructors, staff, and community partners to support student engagement, retention, persistence, and completion.
** The Adult Education Program is a grant‑funded initiative; therefore, employment is contingent upon the terms and duration of the grant contract. Employment is not guaranteed and may be terminated at the College’s discretion. All employees are required to review, sign, and adhere to the terms outlined in their employment contract.
Work activities routinely involve the use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and other related devices. Employees are expected to perform tasks such as data entry, document preparation, email communication, and report generation using these tools.
This on‑site position is based in the Adult Education Department located at the Athens Industrial Adult Education Location in McMinn County, Tennessee. Additionally, this position requires travel to alternate locations served through the Adult Education Program, including, but not limited to, the Cleveland State Community College Vonore Campus, Meigs County, and Athens industrial locations within the College’s five‑county service area.
