Job summary

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is seeking a Teacher Assistant / Paraprofessional for a full-time role in Streamwood, IL. You will support teachers by managing the classroom, reinforcing instruction, and tracking student behavior through daily and quarterly charts.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED with ISBE paraprofessional credentials. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and you may collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with educational and behavioral interventions is helpful.
• ISBE Paraprofessional and ISBE Substitute Teacher certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Actively moves around classroom to facilitate learning.
• Communicates effectively with teacher and supports classroom management.
• Maintain behavior charts and assist in grading homework as directed.
• Assist in instructional processes and in duplicating instructional materials.
• Use crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain safety.
