Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with and work as part of a team including Principal, Classroom Teacher, Special Educators, other staff and parents.
• Experience with and ability to support students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Preferred specialized training such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Establishes emotionally supportive rapport with students.
• Travels to general education classes with students as needed.
• Implements content, instructional and performance modifications as designed by teachers and specialists.
• Ensures information is shared between other support personnel during breaks.
• Participates in meetings and professional development.
• Greets students on arrival and assists with dismissal.
• Implements behavior management plans as written.
• Assists with crisis management per behavior protocols when required.
