Job summary

The Springfield City School District seeks a Paraprofessional at Lagonda Elementary School for the 2026-2027 year. You will assist teachers, support students with assignments, and help with classroom activities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; NCLB paraprofessional credentials (60 college hours or an associate degree or pass the paraprofessional exam); Ohio Teacher's Educational Aide Certification; and 45 hours of required training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Meet NCLB paraprofessional criteria: 60 credits, or an Associate's degree or higher, or pass the paraprofessional exam.
• Ability to obtain Ohio Teacher's Educational Aide Certification.
• Complete 45 hours of mandated training in child development, early childhood education, child abuse recognition and prevention, first aid, and disease prevention.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in providing educational benefits to students.
• Work with students on academic assignments and/or physical needs.
• Assist with preparing materials and operating classroom/assistive technology; attend workshops and trainings.
• Support student transitions between classes with minimal disruption.
• Assist with lifting and handling students up to 300 pounds with appropriate methods.
• Support delegated nursing duties as trained, with proper supervision.

Education
