Job summary

Santa Barbara Unified School District is seeking an Intervention Center Assistant to monitor students in a dedicated program at Goleta Valley Junior High. The role focuses on supervising, guiding, and supporting students in a structured setting to promote learning.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience. Bilingual Spanish skills are desirable; First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and at least 1 year experience with children or adolescents.
• Bilingual Spanish desirable; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, monitoring and assistance in an intervention center or classroom setting.
• Prepare and maintain records including referrals, attendance, suspensions, discipline, and academics.
• Organize and maintain instructional materials and perform related clerical duties as required.
• Notify teachers or counselors about student progress and issues.
• Schedule detention and Saturday activities as directed.
• Assist the certificated teacher in observing student behavior.
• Ensure student health and safety; administer minor first aid if needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
