Job summary

Lowell High School 9-12 in Lowell, Massachusetts is hiring a Student Support Services Specialist to assist in developing and implementing a high-quality academic program. You will supervise scholastic achievement and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensure valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Licensure valid for service as a Principal/Assistant Principal or Supervisor/Director in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in curriculum and student support services.
• At least five years of successful teaching or related experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Assistant Principal in developing and implementing a high-quality academic program for students.
• Assist in supervising all aspects of scholastic achievement of students.
• Maintain a safe learning environment through pro-active support and discipline.
• Work with faculty and staff to promote a sense of pride and belonging among students.
• Collaborate with Assistant Principal regarding student discipline, attendance, and other student issues.
• Assist staff in developing a positive learning environment that addresses the needs of all learners.
• Work with guidance counselors, social workers, and other support staff to ensure the total development of the students.
• Maintain close contact with the students’ homes as well as with the attendance officers.
• Monitor student attendance, and ensure compliance with school committee policies regarding attendance.
• Assist Assistant Principal in all aspects of maintaining a safe and positive climate for students and staff.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Assistant Principal.
