Stark State College is seeking a part-time Student Support Counselor to provide short-term counseling and support services to students on the Main campus. The role includes crisis intervention, training staff and students to recognize and respond to mental health needs, and assisting the Judicial Affairs Officer when needed.
The position emphasizes liaison with local mental health professionals and development of intervention plans to support students’ wellness and safety.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide short-term personal, social, emotional, and developmental consultation services for students. The Student Support Counselor may act as a Judicial Affairs Assistant when the Judicial Affairs Officer is unavailable. The primary contact for this position will be on Stark State College’s Main campus for issues relating to student mental health. The Assistant will also provide training to the campus community for recognizing and handling students in need of assistance; develop and monitor intervention plans, and provide emergency counseling services.
This is a part-time position working a maximum of 29 hours per week.
