Job summary

FOREST HILLS ELEMENTARY in Danville, VA is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support identified student(s) under the supervision of a teacher and principal. Duties include supervising students, assisting with daily living skills, feeding, toileting, and behavior support.

Responsibilities include aiding OT, PT, and Speech Therapists, preparing materials efficiently, and ensuring safety in hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, and rest times while aligning with classroom goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within sixty (60) days of being hired.

Responsibilities

• Support the student(s) in daily living skills to participate in the general/adaptive education curriculum.
• Provide support for OT, PT, and Speech Therapists when requested.
• Prepare materials in a time-efficient manner.
• Follow the directions of the teacher and/or principal.
• Supervise identified student(s) in hallways, bathrooms, and playgrounds in a safe, structured, and positive manner.
• Assist the teacher and/or administrator in meeting the non-instructional needs of each child.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days
