Job summary

NORTHSIDE PRE-K in Danville, Virginia is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support identified student(s) with daily living activities and behavior support. The role reports to the principal and supervising teacher and includes supervision in various settings in a safe, structured environment.

Responsibilities include assisting OT/PT/Speech staff, preparing materials, and following instructional directions to help students participate in the general/adaptive education curriculum.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to work closely and cooperatively with students, teachers, administrators, colleagues, and parents/visitors.
• Position Type: Full-Time; Salary listed as hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Supervise identified student(s) to ensure safety in hallways, bathrooms, playgrounds, and rest time.
• Assist instruction and non-instructional activities as directed by the teacher and principal.
• Provide support for OT, PT, and Speech Therapists when requested.
• Prepare materials efficiently and follow the teacher's directions.
• Assist with daily living skills such as feeding, toileting, and behavior support.
