Job summary

City of New York is seeking a School Aide for District 20 in Brooklyn. Under supervision, you relieve teachers of non-teaching tasks and supervise students during meals and dismissal, helping maintain order and safety.

This part-time role requires dependability, ability to stand long periods, and lifting up to 10 lbs. Bilingual candidates may be considered. Hours are Monday–Friday, at least 4 hours daily, per the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma not required.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand for long periods of the day.
• Lift objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Experience working with students, preferably high school-age.
• Bilingual candidates may be considered for schools with student or familial language needs.
• Team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Relieves teachers of non-teaching duties.
