Job summary

Stride, Inc. through Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy seeks a Student Support Advisor to promote engagement, attendance, and academic progress for grades 6-8 in a virtual learning environment.

You will build relationships with students and families, identify barriers, and provide individualized MTSS-based support. The role collaborates with teachers and school leadership, supports onboarding, and helps students develop study habits and confidence for success in a virtual setting.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of college AND Two (2) years of education experience.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with online learning experiences.
• Willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a caseload of students to increase engagement and attendance.
• Provide proactive support to students using data resources.
• Assist with onboarding experiences for Learning Coaches and students.
• Serve as primary contact between students, Learning Coaches, and teachers/school administration.
• Pursue ongoing education and training to address evolving student needs.

Job DescriptionResidency Requirements:Must reside inMichigan.The Student Support Advisor supports students in grades 6-8 by promoting consistent engagement, attendance, academic progress, and connection to the school community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Four (4) years of college education.Experience working with the proposed age group.Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology.

Compensation & Benefits:

Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
