Job summary

Charyl Stockwell Academy (CSA) District is seeking a compassionate School Guidance Counselor to join our high school team in Brighton, Michigan. The counselor will provide counseling services to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in School Counseling with a valid certification; prior school counseling experience is preferred. You will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify needs, develop intervention plans,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in School Counseling is required.
• Valid School Counselor Certification is required.
• Previous experience in a school counseling setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address personal, social, academic, and emotional challenges.
• Develop and implement counseling programs to support student achievement and well-being.
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and create intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development.
• Offer crisis intervention and support for students facing immediate issues.
• Facilitate workshops for students, parents, and staff on mental health and coping strategies.
• Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions and interactions.
• Advocate for students and connect them with necessary resources and services.
• Stay updated on best practices in counseling and education.
