Job summary

Washington State University Tri-Cities GEAR UP program is accepting applications for a Student Achievement Specialist at Walla Walla High School, WA. You will mentor students, monitor data for reporting, and help increase engagement and postsecondary access.

You will work with families and school staff to provide college readiness education, develop individualized plans, and support students and parents through ongoing outreach and coordination with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; two years of professional work in student services or related education/experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; combo may substitute for education.
• Two years of professional experience must be in student services, providing instruction or outreach to students and/or working with parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide family outreach and education on college readiness.
• Offer student advising and assessment through individual action plans.
• Collaborate with school personnel and community partners; participate in after-school, evening, and weekend activities.
