Student Success Coach - (Staff | Disability Services | req2747)

Position Overview

The Success Coach provides personalized academic support to students, focusing on accommodations for students with disabilities and enhancing overall academic performance through tutoring, coaching, and success strategies. The role supports students in overcoming challenges, building confidence, and achieving educational goals.

Location

Based at the Cornish College of the Arts campus in South Lake Union, supporting students from both CCOA-SU and the main Seattle University campus.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Disability-Related Accommodations Support (65%): Meet with students for Access Planning, review requests, support documentation, and approve accommodations in consultation with the Senior Director. Provide orientation, advocacy, and support for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance and maintaining records.
  2. Tutoring, Academic Coaching, and Success Strategies (35%): Assist students with developing academic strategies, including time management, study skills, and goal-setting. Offer workshops and individual support, and refer students to additional resources as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in higher education
  • Knowledge of accessibility issues, accommodations, and assistive technologies
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related fields
  • Certification or training in academic coaching or disability services
  • Experience with learning disabilities, ADHD, mental health challenges
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and UDL principles

Work Model
