About The Team

Michigan Online School (MOS) is a K-12 tuition-free online public school in Michigan. We empower students to excel by enabling personalized learning through innovative technology, allowing students to learn at their own pace and level.

Role Overview

The Student Success Coach manages onboarding, interventions, and support services for students, serving as the primary contact for families and ensuring effective communication and support. The role includes oversight of educational interventions to boost engagement and learning outcomes, with occasional travel for in-person testing and events.

Responsibilities

• Support students and families through onboarding and ongoing assistance
• Maintain open office hours and conduct welcome calls
• Follow up on onboarding tasks and resolve issues collaboratively
• Develop plans to overcome barriers to attendance and achievement
• Provide strategies to enhance communication and academic success
• Facilitate training and provide academic resources
• Monitor and support student progress, collaborating with teachers and parents
• Conduct conferences and participate in student gatherings
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in professional development
• Coordinate re-enrollment activities and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Michigan residency
• Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, or related field preferred
• Experience as a teacher, tutor, counselor, or mentor
• Experience in marketing, social media, or communications is a plus
• Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office, email, and internet applications
• Excellent communication and data analysis skills
• Ability to handle confidential information and work under pressure
• Ability to work remotely with a distributed team
• Ability to pass background checks
