Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Career Services Specialist to deliver comprehensive career development services to students and alumni. The role involves individualized coaching, program coordination, and event support to connect job seekers with employment opportunities.

Responsibilities include coaching, resume and interview guidance, workshops, career fairs, and data-driven program evaluation. This is a 75% FTE term position ending 6/30/2027 with benefits and employer resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; 1+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
• Experience coaching and advising students or alumni in career development is preferred
• Familiarity with planning and delivering workshops, events, and programs

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized career coaching and advising to students/alumni; develop personalized career plans
• Guide resume/cover letter development, interview prep, job search strategies, networking, and graduate school options
• Deliver and evaluate career education programs, workshops, and events
• Plan and execute career fairs and recruiting activities; manage participant prep and follow-up
• Review opportunities for relevance to student/alumni needs; align with services goals
• Use career resources and labor market data to advise on career paths and opportunities
• Collaborate with employers on engagement initiatives and program participation
• Develop communications to engage students/alumni with services and opportunities
• Coordinate logistics for services and events; manage data in systems
• Collect feedback and measure outcomes to guide improvements
• Support university committees and special projects; may supervise staff
• This is a term position ending 6/30/2027; remote/hybrid not guaranteed
