Job summary

LEAD Public Schools, Inc. in Nashville is seeking a Student Support Coordinator (SSC) to foster a respectful campus environment and provide hands-on behavioral and emotional support.

You will work with students, families, and teachers to implement proactive services that enhance academic and social development. The SSC will manage a caseload, de-escalate incidents, and coach teachers in strategies to improve classroom behavior, while aligning with RTI/504/S-Team plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years working with students is required.
• Two years of teaching experience is preferred.
• Experience with diverse student populations in urban settings is strongly preferred.
• Experience developing/implementing individualized student plans (RTI, 504, or S-Team) is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Teach students self-regulation skills to maximize instructional time and promote positive behavior.
• Manage a caseload of students through mentorship, check-ins, small groups, and observations.
• Design and implement individualized consequences with students, families, and teachers.
• Refer students to counseling, therapy, S-Team, or BBBS when needed.
• Provide real-time behavior support in-class or at the door to maintain a productive environment.
• Facilitate reflective conversations to help students take responsibility for actions.
• Document supports and assign follow-ups for accountability.
• De-escalate behavior challenges and maintain presence during transitions and common areas.
• Collaborate with staff after incidents and share behavior data with GLT teams.
