Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in education, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with high school students is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Builds positive relationships with students and acts as a trusted adult in the school.
  • Provides individual and small-group support for academic, attendance, behavioral, social, or personal challenges.
  • Develops strategies with students to improve attendance, behavior, organization, motivation, and academic success.
  • Monitors attendance, grades, behavior, and other indicators to identify students needing support.
  • Collaborates with teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff to plan appropriate interventions.
  • Communicates with parents/guardians about student concerns, progress, attendance, and supports.
  • Supports students with problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and decision‑making.
  • Maintains confidentiality and follows school policies regarding student information.
