Job summary

Nebraska Indian Community College in Santee, SD, is seeking a Student Services Advisor to support enrollment, admissions, and student life. You will manage a caseload of students, assist with onboarding, financial aid, and degree planning, and document contacts in case notes.

Qualifications

Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Experience advising college students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds or related.
Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Understanding of Native American history and cultures is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of ~80 students, provide admissions and onboarding, and assist with academic and financial aid information.
Serve as mentor/advisor, offering referrals for basic needs and guidance on time management and study skills.
Follow protocols for early alerts and document student contacts in case notes.
Prepare monthly reports for the supervisor and participate in biweekly meetings with the Dean.
Support campus activities, events, recruitment, and occasional evenings/weekends; on-site work required.
