Qualifications

• Master’s degree with two years of academic advising experience or Bachelor’s with five years of advising experience in higher education
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Written communication skills
• Experience with data management systems
• Ability to work with diverse groups/populations
• Commitment to inclusion, equity and social justice in work

Responsibilities

• Monitor student academic record progression and enrollment status
• Update student records in the student information system
• Advise students on course, minor, and major options and readmission
• Collaborate with advisors, campus departments, and support offices to promote student success and retention
• Participate in academic reviews and campus programs/events
• Support CCRI students and teach First-Year seminar when assigned
• Engage on university committees and represent the academic unit as needed
