Job summary

California State University, Monterey Bay is seeking a Student Services Professional II to support the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Guardian Scholars. You will provide academic, career, and financial aid advising to assigned caseload, help with referrals, and foster student success.

The role involves developing plans, coordinating workshops, and collaborating with campus units to enhance retention and graduation outcomes for historically underserved students.

Qualifications

  • Education as described: four-year college degree or equivalent in behavioral sciences, public or business administration or related field.
  • Two years of professional experience in a student services program area or related field; masters may substitute for one year.
  • Experience with advising, counseling and coordinating with campus units is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal and academic advising to EOP and Guardian Scholars students.
  • Develop action plans, monitor academic progress, and refer to campus resources.
  • Coordinate workshops and programs for first-generation and foster youth students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data on caseloads.
  • Supervise student staff and assist with trainings and development.
