Job summary

Austin Community College District invites applications for a Specialist, Area of Study Advising (Student Affairs). The role provides academic advising and student support within ACC's Guided Pathways model, with duties performed in-person or virtually.

The ideal candidate will guide students on course selection, financial aid processes, and college readiness, maintain records, and coordinate referrals. A Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience are required; bilingual

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years related work experience.
• Bilingual English–Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on courses, programs, scheduling, TSI compliance, and career planning.
• Assist with financial aid applications and administration to access federal/state aid.
• Assess needs and refer to appropriate services; maintain accurate records.
• Manage caseload and interventions to promote student success and retention.
• Coordinate referrals to counseling and campus resources as needed.
• Prepare reports and communicate with instructors and staff regarding student progress.
