Overview

Auburn UniversityRadio Frequency Identification (RFID) Lab is seeking a motivated and skilled Student Software Developer. This position is ideal for undergraduate students who are passionate and proficient in software development and are looking to apply their skills in a dynamic research environment. The role involves developing and maintaining web-based applications that support our lab’s research activities, utilizing technology to streamline and optimize processes, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency for the teams throughout the RFID Lab.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications for data management, visualization, and research collaboration.
• Work closely with researchers to understand their software requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Participate in the design, testing, and deployment of new software features.
• Assist in the integration of computational tools and databases.
• Document and maintain software functionality.
• Ensure the robustness and reliability of web applications.
• Perform data collection and data analysis to investigate the performance of large-scale RFID deployments.
• Responsible for creating reports for data presentation and customer communication.
• Responsible for evaluating the performance of RFID systems in retail stores and standard lab test environments.
• Responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting RF test equipment.

• Experience working with web applications, and or frameworks (NextJS, Remix, Vite/React) - Experience with Kubernetes
