Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno is seeking student drivers for ASUN Pack Rides to provide on-campus shuttle services. You will cover routes within three miles, operate weekend and night shifts, and promote rider safety and community engagement.

Must be an undergraduate student with a 2.0 GPA, able to work weekends, and possess at least three years of clean driving experience. A background check and pre-employment drug test are required. The role is a student employee position with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as an undergraduate student at UNR with a minimum 2.00 GPA.
• Enrollment of at least 30 credit hours each academic year (freshmen eligible with required credits).
• Availability on weekends and willingness to work late hours.
• Minimum of three years of clean driving experience and a DMV driving record printout available upon offer.
• Pass a state and federal criminal background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-demand ride service covering up to three miles from campus and operate shuttle services on weekends and nighttime routes.
• Practice defensive driving strategies to ensure timely and safe transportation.
• Employ strong customer service skills and communicate important safety information to riders.
• Inspect vehicle cleanliness and safety, and record usage data with applicable technology.
• Collect rider survey data and assist with data definition and collection.
• Make decisions that ensure safe operation and report issues to supervisors.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and discuss campus issues and safety.
• Assist University Police by reporting suspicious or unsafe activity.
