Job summary

University of California, Merced is seeking a part-time Student Service Advisor to support New Student Orientation and related programming on-site in Merced. You will work with Orientation staff to implement recruitment efforts, learning workshops, campus outreach, and manage the Orientation center website.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and strong communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Basic knowledge of UC Merced programs and policies (Preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of and experience managing websites and social media. (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists New Student Orientation professional staff with implementation of recruitment and planning efforts for Orientation.
• Manage registration processes and tracking (in-line with move-in processes).
• Develop master timelines for facilities, work orders, and permits.
• Coordinate space reservations and room setup.
• Plan and execute information fairs.
• Assist students, parents, and guests with Orientation registration questions and issues.
• Updating the Banner system with Orientation cancellations and no shows.
• Co-Supervise Orientation Logistics Leaders Student Staff.

It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.The hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $22.32 - 27.40.

About the Job

Under close supervision of higher level Orientation professionals the Student Service Advisor is focused on support of New Student Orientation.
