Job summary

BALL-CHATHAM CUSD #5 is seeking a Student Supervisor to monitor student behavior during lunch and recess, ensuring safety and orderly conduct. The role includes assisting with lunch service, supervising outdoor activities, and coordinating with staff to address safety concerns.

The position requires mobility, the ability to work outdoors in all weather, and the stamina to walk several hours daily. Training and guidance come from the Assistant Principal and school administration.

Qualifications

• Must be agile and mobile.
• Must have visual ability to observe children over a large area.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must be able to walk 3+ hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the behavior and activities of children during lunch and recess to ensure safety.
• Hand out napkins, spoons, and forks.
• Release students by row to go through lunch line.
• Release students to return to class.
• Assist in refilling condiments between lunch periods.
• Clean the lunch tables between lunch periods.
• Enforce cafeteria and playground rules and policies.
• Handle minor discipline problems and refer severe problems to the assistant principals.
• Refer injured students to the nurse’s office; seek assistance when necessary.
• Work cooperatively with other supervisors to problem solve and create a positive experience for children.
