University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, seeks a dedicated Coordinator of the Gamecock CommUnity Shop to oversee daily operations and ensure students have access to food and essential resources in a welcoming environment.

The role manages inventory, coordinates volunteers, and drives partnerships with campus and community organizations to support student basic needs and success. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience are required, with a 12‑month basis and a 37.5-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates resource recruitment, delivery, communication, and operational management for the Gamecock CommUnity Shop and associated basic needs initiatives serving the University community.
• Manages daily operations of the Gamecock CommUnity Shop to ensure spaces are open, accessible, staffed, clean, organized, and fully stocked for student use.
• Oversees recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition of student staff and volunteers supporting front desk and operations.
• Leads engagement, retention, and appreciation efforts for student leaders, volunteer groups, community partners, and students participating in BTCM experiences.
• Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with on- and off-campus stakeholders that support a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and integrated approach to addressing student basic needs.
