Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Research Assistant for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Department of Psychiatry RWJMS (Busch Campus) is seeking qualified candidates for undergraduate research assistant positions. This position would be ideal for rising Sophomores and Juniors seeking to pursue a career in medicine or biomedical research. The ideal candidate would be interested in continuing to broaden their research experience. Opportunities are for part-time research experience during the academic year and/or full-time positions in the summer. We are seeking detail oriented and highly motivated individual who can, with training, independently follow and conduct clinical and/or laboratory based research protocols.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Assists with human research subject recruitment and/or pre-protocol preparatory procedures.
  • Assists with data collection and/or data development for research studies.
  • Accurately record all data and experiments in a lab notebook and/or in data sheets. Assists with maintaining study records and databases.
  • Monitors and communicates with study team to ensure research protocol compliance.
  • Assists with preparation of materials for institutional review board submissions.
  • Assists in scholarship activity resulting from the research, including analysis and writing for journal articles.
