A.T. Still University’s ATSU-ASDOH is seeking a Student Research Assistant on the Mesa campus to support the SalivaEpi Biobank. The role involves participant recruitment, consent, saliva sample collection/storage, and data entry under supervision of research staff.

The position offers hands-on experience in oral health and biomedical research, with training in research ethics, data management, and clinical research operations.

Qualifications

• Two year college certificate or equivalent is required.
• Coursework or background in biology, health sciences, dentistry, or public health.
• Interest in research, dentistry, healthcare, or biomedical sciences.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow protocols and work with human research participants.
• Professional communication skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Recruit participants to the project.
• Obtain participant consent.
• Perform sample collection and sample storage.
• Enter and verify clinical data into the database.
• Prepare collection materials and ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of biospecimens.
• Maintain accurate records for sample tracking and quality control.
• Adhere to confidentiality, data security, and biosafety requirements.
• Participate in required research training (e.g., human subjects protection, Project SOPs).
• Assist with general Biobank organization and administrative tasks as needed.
