Shift: Nights/Weekends

Location: AdventHealth COLUMBUS, NC

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for performing radiology exams and documenting proper charges in one modality under direct supervision of ARRT technologist.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
  • Responsible for safe handling of equipment and films.
  • Instructs and prepares patients for x-ray and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure and makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures.
  • Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiographs for a variety of examinations.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Senior student (and in good standing) of a 2-year Allied Health program.
  • Must be registered in ARRT within 3 months post-graduation.
  • Basic life support certification.
