Job Summary

Works under the supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist, operating radiology equipment according to policies and procedures. Verifies patient identity, reviews medical records, and assists in imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist radiologic technologist with patient interviews and medical history review.
  2. Explain procedures, including potential side effects, risks, and benefits.
  3. Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
  4. Review images, document observations, and communicate with radiologists.
  5. Maintain safety protocols and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
  6. Respond to medical emergencies and provide post-care instructions.
  7. Transport patients as needed.
  8. Participate in quality improvement activities and receive on-the-job training.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of 9-12 months of training in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Preferred: 2-4 months of clinical rotational experience.
  • Must obtain or have completed AHA BLS certification by end of orientation.
Skills Required
  • Analytical and clinical skills to adapt radiographic techniques.
  • Effective communication skills for patient interaction.
  • Technical proficiency with radiology equipment and computers.
