Radiology Student Technologist – Kings Mills Hospital - Cath Lab

Job Summary:

The Radiology Student Tech must work under the supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist. The role involves applying diagnostic imaging skills safely and effectively using ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology.

Essential Functions:

1. Assist with reviewing patient information related to radiographic exams.
2. Provide lifting assistance and escort patients to and from Radiology.

Education:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program, having completed at least one year with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Required Licensing & Certifications:

• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care)
• GXMO (General X-Ray Machine Operator) state limited license (preferred, unless required by state)

Working Conditions:

• Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads
• Potential exposure to physical altercations, verbal abuse, high noise levels, bright lights, hazardous substances, body fluids, and human blood
• May require physical restraints and working alone for prolonged periods
• Car travel to off-site locations

• EPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred)
