Extended Site Maintenance

We are performing updates and maintenance to our applicant experience. As a result, the site will be unavailable on Saturday, June 14th at 5pm EST through Sunday, June 15th at 7:30am EST. During this outage period, applications for job postings cannot be submitted.

The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) under the College of Education, Health, and Human Services is a high-quality early childhood program that applies a Reggio Emilia-inspired constructivist learning approach. The curriculum focuses on nurturing children's critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ECEC is a State of Michigan approved and NAEYC accredited early learning center for young children. The center also serves as a model for teacher preparation and child study for university students enrolled in UM-Dearborn education courses.

The ECEC is seeking highly motivated and compassionate students to assist lead teachers in a preschool classroom environment.

10 - 30 hours per week

WORK-STUDY STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY

Responsibilities*

Work with children (ages 1-6) in a classroom setting. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with group time activities
• Document children's thoughts and ideas
• Provide lunchtime and snack support to children
• Provide one-on-one attention when needed
• Classroom maintenance

Required Qualifications*

• Must be a current UM student to be considered for this position
• High School Diploma
• Clear communication skills, both written and oral
