Job summary

The Granite School District is seeking qualified substitute teachers who have been assigned a student teaching placement for the upcoming school year. These roles provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher, following established lesson plans and district procedures.

Successful candidates will help maintain a safe, positive learning environment, monitor students across lunchrooms, halls, and classrooms, and comply with AESOP scheduling and school policies.

Qualifications

• Background check must be completed and cleared before employment.
• Associate degree or completion of at least 60 semester credit hours from an accredited institution.
• Ability to travel to various Granite School District schools as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and schedules provided by the regular teacher.
• Provide instruction and classroom support to students.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, assemblies, recess, and other areas.
• Report student injuries or discipline concerns to administration.
• Remain engaged with students and assist throughout the school day.
• Comply with Granite School District procedures and schedules.
• Check in with the office at the assigned time and stay for the full workday, including ten minutes post-dismissal.
• Refrain from personal use of devices during instructional time.
• Use district technology only for instructional purposes.
• Substitute teachers may not work in classrooms where a relative is the regular teacher.
