The Minnesota Daily is seeking student photographers who enjoy fast-paced environments and tell visual stories about the University of Minnesota community. This role offers a piece-rate pay model with published rates, with no hourly wage, no guaranteed minimum, and no cap.

Expect about 15 hours of work per week and a steady stream of assignments. Candidates should have a portfolio of news photography, knowledge of photographic equipment and lighting, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Formación

• Must be a University of Minnesota student.
• Portfolio of photography for review, emphasis on news photography preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of photographic equipment and lighting.
• You do not need to be in the journalism school to apply for this position.

Responsabilidades

• Shoots quality photographs and written concise cutlines (generally four assignments per week).
• Performs special assignments, when directed by photo editor.
• Works with Multimedia Editor to hone technical camera skills.
• Must have an undying respect for deadlines and should demonstrate willingness to learn.
