The Cook Children's Pharmacy Internship offers practical experience for pharmacy students in a pediatric hospital setting. The role involves assisting pharmacists with providing professional pharmacy services to patients and the community. Tasks include clerical duties such as recording, filling, and reporting pharmacy activities, as well as technical and clinical tasks supervised by a pharmacist across inpatient and outpatient settings, including central operations, retail, Emergency Department, and critical care units.
Completion of a bachelor's degree or 2 years of required prerequisite undergraduate coursework and enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Participation in activities depends on previous pharmacy experience, level of education, and demonstrated skills.
Texas Pharmacy Intern License and ACPE IV certification obtained from an approved course completed during pharmacy school or an ACPE-accredited course within one year of employment (after the first professional year of pharmacy school).
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification for Healthcare Providers.
