Job summary

The Bizzell Group in Guthrie, OK is seeking an experienced operations professional to support the Center Director and advance student programs.

You will compile monthly reports, supervise staff, coordinate disciplinary processes, and ensure compliance with CDSS and center policies while fostering accountability and positive behavior.

Job description

Description
  • Assists the Center Director in meeting the goals and objectives of the center
  • Prepares all statistical data necessary in compiling monthly reports and other reports concerning disciplinary activities needed by the Center Director
  • Emphasize student accountability through training and proper coordination to ensure that students are properly addressed for unexcused class absentees by their counselor, resident advisor, and assigned instructor(s) on a daily basis by providing special focus groups for those students who have developed patterns of missing class, an effective system for student accountability in the dormitories, etc.
  • Ensures that proper recording/documentation; closure of all disciplinary systems occur, and that proper Job Corps policies and guidelines are followed
  • Ensures that staff receives written feedback on incidents of students’ behavior (i.e., residential advisors, teachers, etc.) disciplinary reports, serious incident reports, and restriction lists on a weekly basis
  • Ensures the proper functioning of the Student Behavior Management Council (Peer Review) to include training of board members, assists in the supervision of elections, function of hearings, and ensure that students and staff, in peer review hearings, are following proper guidelines
  • Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the student leadership program, courses, and activities as designed and scheduled through Career Development Services Systems (CDSS) and use the ePCDP as prescribed in policies and procedures
  • Maintains active involvement and coordination with Case Management Teams in the evaluation of student progress and performance as needed
  • Establish and maintain dorm and education courts in order to establish an environment that will encourage students’ participation in the operation of the center and provide encouragement for positive behavior
  • Ensures that student leaders are actively involved in the operation of the center
  • Provides behavior management training to all staff at least annually and within 30 days for new hires
  • Ensures the behavior management plan is updated and aligned with the CDSS at all levels/phases
  • Provides special programs to recognize the positive influence/change in behavior
  • Works toward meeting performance management goals
  • Continual support and adherence to the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system ensure that the PCDP is used in a timely, continual, and effective manner to help support students
  • Adheres to required property control policies and procedures
  • Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Bizzell policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures
  • Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices
  • Demonstrates and abides by The Bizzell Group's core values and operating principles
  • Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards
  • Evaluates personnel under his/her management and makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, and/or merit increases
  • Responsible and accountable for overall Center Outcome Measurement performance goals and Quarterly Student Safety/Satisfaction Survey, and other measurable performance indicators
  • Attends and participates in required training sessions; conducts training as necessary, ensures staff attendance at required training
  • Train all staff to be proactive when addressing negative student behaviors that could become elevated
  • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience

One to two years related experience and/or training. One-year experience working with youth or young adults.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in human services, juvenile justice, or related field. Experience and training may substitute for education.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid State Driver’s License.
