Job Description

Invest in the next generation by maintaining a ministry that invests in the lives of junior high and senior high students and supports growth in their relationship with God. Teach biblical lessons in exciting and challenging ways while programming fun event nights and meaningful worship experiences. Make a difference in the lives of students and volunteers each week through shepherding and mentoring while growing strong relationships with fellow next generation teammates.

This position reports to the Lead Next Generation Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead a Student Leadership Team.
• Plan, prepare, assign sermons during the school year.
• Create community and a fun atmosphere among volunteers.
• Organize and set up weekly youth nights along with special event nights.
• Attend and possibly lead any special events required by the FSC Next Gen Department such as baptisms, pool parties, and family events.
• Build healthy and honoring relationships with coworkers and attend weekly staff meetings.
• Support and carry out any additional tasks required.
• Work with team to ensure kids ministry needs are met.
• Train and encourage volunteers.
• Encourage, provide wise counsel, instruct, teach, and mentor kids of all ages on a weekly basis.

Qualifications

• Aligned with the beliefs, mission, vision, and values of Fountain Springs Church.
• A degree in biblical studies or pastoral leadership preferred.
• Experience leading student ministry.
• Outgoing personality and detail minded.
• Organized.

Work Schedule

Minimum of 40 hours per week

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand/sit for extended periodsand work in a loud, fast-paced work environment.
