Job summary

Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville, GA seeks a Student Pastor to build an effective Student Ministry focused on discipleship and spiritual growth. You will recruit and develop a team of leaders to invest in the next generation and help students grow in faith, service, giving, and sharing Jesus.

The role includes planning weekly and midweek ministries, sermon series, and annual events, while coordinating with the Pastor of Education to align with church mission.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute safe ministries for Sundays and Wednesdays.
• Prepare sermon series for student ministry and weekly preaching.
• Plan events like Student Camp and Fall Retreat for evangelism and growth.
• Create opportunities for Bethlehem students to serve church and community.
• Develop discipleship strategies to achieve outcomes: abide, serve, give, share.

Job description

The mission statement at Bethlehem is: We exist to glorify God and make disciples by joyfully investing in the spiritually hungry to build God’s family.The Student Pastor is responsible for creating an effective Student Ministry that invests into next generation of spiritually hungry Christ followers. He is responsible for creating discipleship strategies where students can grow in what it means to: Abide in Christ, Serve the church, Give with joy, and Share Jesus. This person will be responsible for recruiting and developing a team of leaders to joyfully invest in the next generation to build God’s family.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and execute effective and safe ministries for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. This includes: Life Group curriculum and Wednesday night preaching and programming.
• Prepare sermon series’ for student ministry and plan to preach each week
• Plan and execute special events, focused on evangelism and spiritual growth for Student Ministry across the calendar year (i.e. Student Camp, Fall Retreat)
• Create opportunities for the students at Bethlehem to serve the church and the community
• Alongside the Pastor of Education, develop discipleship strategies ensuring that Student Ministry is producing the 4 outcomes in the students at Bethlehem: abide, serve, give, and share.
• Recruit and develop an effective Sunday and Wednesday morning pipeline that raises leaders within the church family.
• Be a developer not a doer. Invest into students and into leaders that results in increased leaders and disciple-makers.
• Communicate as needed to families and leaders about upcoming events and updates pertaining to Student Ministry
• Humbly serve as a part of the staff team at Bethlehem Baptist at the direction of the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications

• Biblical Qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7.
• A growing, personal walk with Christ marked by the character of Christ.
• Being an H3 Leader: hungry, humble, hustle.
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
• Ordained or eligible for immediate ordination.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field preferred.
• Experience: 2–5 years in youth or family ministry preferred.
