Responsibilities

  • The Occupational Therapy Assistant student implements Occupational therapy programs and provides treatments to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under supervision.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in onboarding and orientation.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and meetings as a representative of Occupational Therapy.
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, adherence to care plans, and timely documentation under supervision.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to develop patient programs aligned with individual needs.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy skills and techniques under supervision.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for all treated patients.
  • Maintain and report the condition of equipment as needed.
  • Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by Occupational Therapists.
  • Provide interventions in areas such as cognitive skills, strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, and activities of daily living.
  • Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with supervising therapists.
  • Perform other related duties as required under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
