Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapy Assistant student implements Occupational therapy programs and provides treatments to facilitate increased independence and functioning, under supervision.

  1. Follow all Powerback Rehabilitation policies and procedures outlined in onboarding and orientation.
  2. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and meetings as a representative of Occupational therapy, under supervision.
  3. Deliver rehab services effectively and efficiently; adhere to established plans, schedules, and document services timely with supervision.
  4. Work with the rehabilitation team to develop programs tailored to each patient's needs and capabilities under supervision.
  5. Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in occupational therapy skills and techniques under supervision.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all treated patients under supervision.
  7. Ensure equipment is maintained, report repairs needed, and keep the workspace safe under supervision.
  8. Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care respecting individual needs and rights under supervision.
  9. Implement individualized treatment plans established by the primary Occupational Therapist under supervision.
  10. Provide specific interventions such as muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, balance, activities of daily living, joint protection, orientation, and physical agent modalities under supervision.
  11. Organize and facilitate treatment groups in consultation with the supervising therapist.
  12. Perform other related duties as required under supervision.
