Job summary

AMDA College of the Performing Arts in New York City seeks an Orientation Support Specialist to assist with planning, communications, logistics, scheduling, and event execution for orientation, move-in, and Welcome Week for incoming students and families.

This temporary, in-person position runs from September 14 through October 30, 2026, with hours typically 20–29 per week during preparation and up to 40 hours per week during active periods, at a pay rate of $23.00–$26.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in event coordination, orientation support, Student Affairs, higher education, or related areas preferred.
• Experience working with students or onboarding programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning orientation schedules, activities, and logistics.
• Support communications to incoming students and families regarding orientation requirements, schedules, and campus information.
• Coordinate orientation materials, supplies, signage, and event preparation.
• Support orientation check-in, move-in, and student arrival processes.
• Assist with Welcome Week programming and student engagement events.
• Provide on-site logistical support during orientation, move-in, and Welcome Week activities.
• Maintain attendance records and orientation-related documentation.
• Assist with post-orientation surveys and assessment activities.
