AMDA College of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles is seeking an Orientation Support Specialist to provide temporary operational support for student orientation, move-in, and Welcome Week. You will work closely with campus Student Affairs leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute logistics, communications, and events to create a welcoming experience for incoming students and families.

The temporary appointment runs from September 14 through October 30, 2026, and the position is fully in-person

Qualifications

  • Assist with event set-up, breakdown, and operational coordination.
  • Maintain attendance records, participation tracking, and other orientation-related documentation.
  • Assist with post-orientation surveys, follow-up, and assessment activities.
  • Provide responsive and professional assistance to students, families, and campus colleagues.
  • Perform other orientation-related duties as assigned during the temporary appointment.

The Orientation Support Specialist provides temporary operational support for student orientation, move-in, and Welcome Week programming at the assigned campus. Working closely with campus Student Affairs leadership, this position assists with planning, communications, logistics, scheduling, administrative coordination, and event execution to help create a welcoming and well-organized experience for incoming students and their families.

The temporary appointment will run from September 14 through October 30, 2026.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of orientation schedules, activities, and logistics.
  • Support communications to incoming students and families regarding orientation requirements, schedules, and campus information.
  • Coordinate orientation materials, supplies, signage, and event preparation.
  • Support orientation check-in, move-in, and student arrival processes.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of Welcome Week programming and student engagement events.

Position Information
  • This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt position.
  • The temporary appointment will run from September 14 through October 30, 2026.
  • The position is fully in person at AMDA’s Los Angeles campus.
  • Employees are generally scheduled between 20 and 29 hours per week during orientation preparation periods.
  • During active orientation, move-in, and Welcome Week periods, employees may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week based on operational needs.
  • Hours and schedules may vary and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
