Job Summary:

The Office of Student Organizations and Activities is searching for an Associate Director for Student Organization Development and Engagement Initiatives. We are seeking a detail-oriented, innovative, energetic, and strategic individual to provide professional-level program coordination, supervision, project management, manage crisis response, ensure risk-reduction protocols are upheld and provide strategic direction for student organization development and engagement initiatives.

This position supports the oversight, development, and advancement of over 700 registered and sponsored student organizations while streamlining organization processes and best practices across campus. This person will provide comprehensive leadership and management in financial and human resource operations, assessment, and forecasting for institutionally mandated service and leadership programs, including several major fee-receiving sponsored student organizations such as DanceBlue, Student Activities Board, Student Government Association, Graduate Student Congress, and Club Sports. This role also supports planning and execution of large-scale campus traditions such as K Week and Homecoming and requires collaboration across all academic colleges and administrative units to support involvement outreach, event registration, and risk management practices that align with institutional priorities and student success outcomes. Additionally, the Associate Director will lead holistic marketing and promotion efforts for student involvement, including the Involvement Campaign and other initiatives aimed at increasing student connection to campus resources and communities.

A well-qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to plan and execute programs with precision, support students through change, lead a high-performing team, and build strong collaborative partnerships across campus. Strength in public speaking, interpersonal communication, time management, and large-scale event planning is essential. A Master’s degree (preferably in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related field) and at least five years of experience in student advisement, campus programming, or event planning are required.

From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
