State of Louisiana—Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) invites students to join the Student Employment program. This program hires students at undergraduate or graduate levels in wildlife/government fields to gain challenging work experience while contributing to LDWF goals. Students must be enrolled full time and maintain enrollment while employed, with up to 20 hours per week.
Verification of enrollment is required. Applications will remain active for 90 days.
LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information and technology. The Office of Wildlife exists to provide wise stewardship of Louisiana’s wildlife and associated habitats and increase wildlife conservation awareness.
The purpose of the LDWF Student Employment program is to employ students at the graduate and undergraduate levels, in fields of study that will be beneficial to LDWF while providing the student with challenging work experience. Through this program, LDWF hopes to encourage students to pursue wildlife/governmental careers. Students must be currently enrolled full time in an accredited educational institution at the undergraduate or graduate level and maintain enrollment at the University while employed at LDWF. Students can work up to 20 hours per week. Student workers are not required to pursue an education in a curriculum that is directly related to the office in which they will be working. Students do not need to be registered during the summer sessions in order to be qualified for student status. However, if graduating in the spring semester, proof of enrollment for the fall semester must be received in order to continue employment under the student employment program.
