DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, performs the general duties in a kitchen, involving the preparation, packaging and serving of food, and cleaning of utensils, dishes and equipment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Assist in the preparation of food items.E
• Package food on an assembly line.E
• Heat meals in commercial warming equipment.E
• Operate kitchen equipment.E
• Clean tables or counters and assist in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of kitchen.E
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and other kitchen equipment.E
• Serve meals at school sites.E
• Perform cashiering duties manually or utilizing computerized cash register system.E
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in quantity food preparation or service is desirable
