The role you'll contribute:

Delivers basic patient care including activities of daily living, mobility using Safe Patient Handling techniques, and vital signs. Collaborates with a Registered Nurse to enhance basic nursing skills such as wound care, dressing changes, IV insertion and removal, urinary catheter management, blood glucose management, NG tube insertion and management, in accordance with Division of Nursing standards. This provides exposure to holistic nursing practice, applying new knowledge and expanding career opportunities.

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Knowledge of point of care testing, e.g., blood glucose testing
• Knowledge of normal vital sign parameters for different age groups
• Ability to accurately obtain vital signs and oxygen saturation
• Ability to remove peripheral IV catheters
• Ability to insert, maintain, and remove Foley, JP drains, etc.
• Ability to assist with ostomy care, trach care, and central line dressing changes
• Proficiency with computer use and documentation
• Willingness to adapt to various practice areas as needed

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with validation of fundamental nursing skills
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
